And That's a Fact is an image macro featuring YouTuber Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg pointing at a wall-mounted television set, usually captioned with a phrase "And That's a Fact". In January 2019 memes in which the image on the TV screen was edited to present opinions akin to Lisa Simpson's Presentation and Double D's Facts Book formats gained popularity on Reddit and Instagram.
Origin
On January 10, 2019, YouTuber PewDiePie[1] uploaded a video titled "Jesus needs your HELP! , Ricegum EXPOSED, FAKE gamer girl 📰 PEW NEWS📰". The video gained over 7.4 million views in four days. At 10:21 mark, PewDiePie gestures towards the wall-mounted television in the background and says "and that's a fact".
Spread
On January 11th, 2019, Redditor[2] BeaverMcstever uploaded the first known edit of the image macro to /r/dankmemes subreddit. The post received over 3,200 upvotes in four days. Another edit posted by BeaverMcstever[3] on January 12th, 2019, gained over 19,100 upvotes within three days.
On the same day, Redditor[4] ZuccOnmySucc posted a version of the meme to r/MemeEconomy subreddit, as well as another edit[5] to r/PewdiepieSubmissions. The two posts received over 11,000 upvotes combined in two days.
In the following days, more versions of the meme appeared in various subreddits and on Instagram.
