On September 5th, 2023, Instagram[1] user and "holistic" wellness influencer Samantha Lotus posted a video asking "what if you don't actually "need" glasses?" The caption of the video mentions "practices and methods backed by science" that have helped Lotus "reverse" her need for glasses, followed by the assertion that "If you are ready to truly see, and you're open to holistic multidimensional healing this is for you. If you're closed-minded and want to stay a victim, this is NOT FOR YOU."
Lotus also adds a caveat that says "this doesn't mean to take off your glasses and go about your daily life, or drive a vehicle. It means that self healing is possible! You deserve to see xx" The video gathered over 1,200 likes and 1,700 comments in a week (seen below).
