About

Bank of England Redesigned Banknotes refers to photoshops and edits inspired by the news that the Bank of England is set to redesign its banknotes, and that they will take into account public opinions for the new currency design. British currency currently portrays figures such as Winston Churchill and Jane Austen. However, the public is being invited to give their news on how the banknote redesign could feature themes like nature, innovation or key historic events. Internet users began sharing their satirical takes on what the redesign should look like, presenting people like Lewis Saunderson, the Four Lads in Jeans and the What's the Matter, Lagerboy hobgoblin and other memes in the designs of the bills. The jokes first began making the rounds in early July 2025.
