On January 20th, 2025, at the Presidential Inaugural Parade, United States President Donald Trump talked about his youngest son Barron Trump assisting him in securing the youth vote. As Trump introduced his son, Barron Trump stood up and waved at the cheering crowd, also making a "cupped ear" gesture sometimes done by his father (video^[1] shown below).

On January 22nd, 2025, X^[2] user @TheChiefNerd posted a 20-second clip of Barron Trump waving at the crowd paired with the caption, "When I tell my wife I loaded the dishwasher 😂." The post (shown below) received over 25.3 million views, 20,000 reposts and 302,000 likes in seven days.
