"I Like My Suitcase" Barron Trump, also known as "I Like My Sootcase" Barron Trump, refers to a viral video of a 4-year-old Barron Trump excitedly saying, "I like my suitcase," and, "I have to go to school now?" with his mom Melania Trump and dad Donald Trump in his office. The video was taken for a segment on CNN's Larry King Live in 2010. It went viral on TikTok and Twitter / X in November 2024 following the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. As it spread online, people joked about Barron Trump's Eastern European accent, purposefully misspelling "suitcase" as "sootcase" in subsequent memes. Interest in the video predominantly centered on the public perception that Barron Trump's voice is not often recorded.

Origin

On April 29th, 2010, Donald and Melania Trump were guests on CNN's Larry King Live. In one segment, Barron Trump was filmed in his father's office, heard saying, "I like my suitcase!" and asking his mom, "I have to go to school now?" It was uploaded to the Internet Archive^[1] on the same day, split between two videos (shown below, top and bottom).

The video of Barron Trump saying, "I like my suitcase," was used again in 2020 when ABC News aired a segment on him. The ABC News coverage was posted by TikToker^[2] @camollou on November 11th, 2020, gaining over 1.6 million plays and 85,300 likes in four years (shown below).

The video resurfaced en masse in November 2024 following a quote retweet shared by X^[3] user @c1nnamonbunny on November 13th. She quote retweeted a post about Barron Trump allegedly having an IQ of 170, akin to Emperor Barron Trump discourse, attaching the clip of him saying, "I like my suitcase," with the caption, "This obsession with Barron is hilarious when you consider that the only video we have of him speaking is this." The quote retweet received over 72,000 likes in five days (shown below).

On November 15th, TikToker^[4] @joysparkleshine reposted the video, raving about his "little accent" being cute, gaining over 2.7 million plays and 336,300 likes in three days.

Also on November 15th, 2024, TikToker^[5] @caitlin..cool posted a video, joking about how her new "vocal stim" could become, "I leik my sootcase," gaining over 242,700 plays and 10,600 likes in three days (shown below).

On November 17th, TikToker^[6] @bowlancey posted a slow fade-in meme of Barron Trump with a top caption reading, "I like my sootcase," gaining over 1.1 million plays and 95,400 likes in a day (shown below).
