On December 7th, 2023, X[1] user @wetpretzel_ posted a GIF from a scene of the 1991 animation "Beauty And The Beast" in which the Beast holds Belle's hands. A couple of days later, on December 9th, 2023, X[2] user @hiimbobbi replied to @wetpretzel_'s tweet saying "Personally, Belle was not fooling me or anyone. When the Beast changed into a human, I saw that look on her face. That was DISAPPOINTMENT." The post (shown below) amassed over 24 million views and 241,000 likes in a day.


The Beast's transformation scene was posted on YouTube[3] by user @kenglean on September 21st, 2006. The video (shown below) amassed more than 3.9 million views and 6,100 likes in 17 years.

@hiimbobbi's tweet inspired a viral debate on X in which people tried to point out how Belle preferred the Beast in his furry mode. For instance, on December 10th, 2023, X[4] user @AxelMalibu posted a clip from Disney's "Once Upon a Studio" video in which Belle appears alongside the Beast. The tweet (shown below) is accompanied by the caption commenting on Belle's preference, saying "Even Disney agrees bc they still have him as a beast in all his other appearances." The video amassed more than 1.3 million views and 10,000 likes in a day.

On the same day, X[5] user @EARTH0AKOSUA posted Belle's reaction to the Beast's transformation (shown below), which garnered over 32 million views and 99,000 likes in a day.

This is what happens when you give your animators time to flesh out the details instead of giving them tight deadlines to pad financial reports.
