About

Black Francine Edits refers to a meme trend in which a screenshot of Francine Smith from American Dad holding two shot glasses is edited to make her look like a Black woman. The meme was popularized on X / Twitter in December 2024 after user @tatbaee posted the image alongside the caption, "when he tells me i’m the worse woman’s he’s ever met," inspiring user @MissSassbox to ask for a Black version, resulting in numerous examples over the following days. The trend also inspired discourse about how there should be a Black version of Family Guy, with many claiming that The Cleveland Show essentially filled that role. The original screenshot comes from American Dad season 8 episode 3, "Can I Be Frank (With You)."
