Blow My Mind is an exploitable meme format made up of images from the Shen Comix comic known as Missed the Point in depicting a man in a yellow sweater telling another person, "Blow my mind," followed by the other character saying something mind blowing. The meme was popularized on sites including X / Twitter and Reddit in February 2020.

Origin

On May 11th, 2016, artist Shenanigansen published a new webcomic in his Owl Turd series, which featured a character wearing a heart sweater attempting to convince a protester to identify himself by the stuff he likes, rather than what he hates. After the protester reveals that he likes 2016 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, the man in the sweater is shown being restrained to prevent him from attacking the protester (shown below). Within 48 hours, the Tumblr post gained over 78,000 notes.^[1]

On February 9th, 2020, Know Your Meme's^[2] Reddit Moments account archived a meme from the /r/memes subreddit consisting of cut-out images from the comic in which the man in the yellow sweater says to another man, "Blow my mind." The person then says, "Sleeping is an eight hour free trial of death, and we love that shit." The post gained over 80 likes in five years. It is unclear who posted it to /r/memes or if the post still exists.

The meme became increasingly popular over the following years, particularly on Reddit, as a way of sharing "mind blowing" facts and statements. For example, on February 10th, 2020, u/Dansydemansy posted a version of the meme to /r/memes^[3] that gained over 42,000 upvotes in five years.

On March 10th, 2025, u/AuthorSarge posted a version of the meme to /r/memes^[4] about dad jokes that gained over 18,000 upvotes in a day.
