Origin

Owl Turd Comix^[1] posted the original on April 22nd, 2017. In the original version, the spider says, "I post art without crediting the artist." The comic, shown below, has gained over 24,000 notes on Tumblr as of April 25th, 2017.

Spread

Shortly after the comic was published, it was turned into an exploitable popular on the /r/dankmemes subreddit. One of the earliest variations, posted on the 23rd by two_number_9s,^[2] featured the spider saying Dicks Out For Harambe, gaining 294 points (shown below).

Over the following two days, the template was employed in dozens more variations on /r/dankmemes. On Meme Economy, a variation was posted by Vipe777^[3] and received over 21,200 points, though users noted the similarity between the comic and similar exploitables Will We Find Intelligent Life? and Oh No, It's Retarded.
