On January 25th, 2026, Twitter / X^[1] user @gyong_zzz uploaded a photo of Haikyuu!! figure characters in chibi version looking at the front camera of a phone, resulting in their faces being shown on the phone's screen. The post garnered over 31.8 million views, 335,000 likes and 16 replies in 10 days.

On February 1st, 2026, Threads^[2] user @yunayuispink reposted the photo and used it as a redraw reference to create Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and Bocchi the Rock! fan arts.

The photo gained virality in late January 2026, when artists began using it as a redraw meme format to add in other characters from various IPs.

For example, on January 26th, 2026, Twitter / X^[5] user @piieennnn uploaded a Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto fan art redraw of the two characters looking at the smartphone front camera and their close-up faces being shown on the screen.
