Origin

On March 24th, 2023, now-suspended X^[1] user @nowweriot posted a photograph of a couple standing side-by-side. On the left, a woman wears a white shirt reading, "cunt era." On the right, a man wears a white shirt reading, "I'm high as fuck and have a gun in my backpack." The post gained over 23,000 likes before it was made unavailable. It is unclear if the photo originated from another source or was originally taken by or of the X user.

Spread

On March 25th, 2023, the image was reposted by X^[2] user @shirtsthtgohard, garnering over 29,000 likes in nine months. On March 29th, X^[3] user @tojikunas posted a piece of artwork depicting Gojo and Shoko from Jujutsu Kaisen wearing the shirts, garnering over 5,100 likes in the same span of time (shown below, left). On April 4th, Redditor u/Love-n-Thunder posted artwork to /r/ChainsawMan^[4] depicting characters from Chainsaw Man wearing the shirts, garnering over 4,700 upvotes in eight months (shown below, right).

On August 20th, Instagram^[5] user smokeapples reposted the original image, garnering over 5,300 likes in four months. On December 3rd, X^[6] user @politeghoul posted an image of herself and a man wearing the same shirts, garnering over 13,000 likes in 10 days (shown below).
