Debbie Turnbull also known as the Robotboy Mom is the mother of Tommy and Donnie Turnbull in the 2005 cartoon series Robotboy. She is notable for her red hair, square head and what's been described as a Pixar mom build, denoted by her large posterior. The show aired between 2005 and 2008 and fell into relative obscurity over the following years, however, Debbie continued to steadily inspire fan art throughout the 2010 and 2020s, much of which is rule 34.

Origin

Debbie Turnbull makes her first appearance on Robotboy in the show's premiere episode, "Dog-Ra," which aired on November 1st, 2005.^[1] A video compiling her "best moments" was uploaded to YouTube^[2] on October 11th, 2021, garnering over 500,000 views in two years (shown below).

Spread

Debbie Turnbull became a notably popular subject of fan art throughout the 2000s both during and after the show's run, despite Robotboy becoming more relatively obscure following its finale. Some early examples of Debbie art were posted by Deviant Art^[3][4] users DrewGardner and Ancestral-Z on March 19th, 2006 and May 4th, 2008, garnering over 630 favorites and 220 favorites respectively in 15 years (shown below).

On November 17th, 2020, X^[5] user @Barleyshake1 posted a piece of artwork that gained over 7,700 likes in three years. On November 1st, 2023, X^[6] user @ToonHive made a post celebrating the 18 year anniversary of the show's premiere, garnering over 3,400 likes in a day. On November 2nd, X user @RebelTaxi quote-reposted the post, writing, "The mom is the only thing people remember from this show," garnering over 7,700 likes in under 24 hours (shown below).
