DILF Detected or Chat I'm Going to Try to Rizz Them Up is a series of redraw memes based on a variant of the Look Mommy It's Shrek webcomic by drawerofdrawings in which a child points to a man on a bus bench, says, "dilf detected" and the child's mom proceeds to try and rizz the man up by saying, "Your ass is so fat it makes me want to kill myself." The edited comic was originally posted to /r/bonehurtingjuice in June 2024 and became the viral subject of redraws that August.

Origin

On June 11th, 2024, Redditor u/Walts_second_phone posted an edit of the "Look Mommy It's Shrek" webcomic by drawerofdrawings, which was the widespread subject of memes and edits at the time, to /r/bonehurtingjuice.^[1] The edit has the child point to the Shrek-like man and say "DILF detected" followed by the mother asking him his pronouns, telling her daughter "chat I'm going to try to rizz them up," then proceeding to say to the Shrek-person, "Your ass is so fat it makes me want to kill myself." The post gained over 14,000 upvotes in two months (shown below).

Spread

In August 2024, the "DILF Detected" variant of the comic became the subject of redraws on sites like X, Tumblr and Reddit.

For example, on August 11th, 2024, X^[2] user @socks_png posted a redraw that gained over 170 likes in five days. On August 12th, X^[3] user @sensible_dude2 posted a Lackadaisy redraw that gained over 500 likes in four days (shown below, left). On the same day, X^[4] user @ghostcabbages posted a redraw that gained over 1,400 likes in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On August 13th, X^[5] user @Zane0744 posted a redraw of the meme featuring mockup furry character Fortnite skins, garnering over 5,900 likes in three days (shown below).

Later that day, X^[6] user @AutistiKal posted a version of the meme referencing Godzilla vs. Kong, garnering over 1,800 likes in three days (shown below, left). On August 15th, X^[7] user @Eddiezhere posted a version referencing Deadpool and Wolverine, garnering over 6,100 likes in a day (shown below, right).

Absolutely Not Go Fuck Yourself, or, Look Mommy It's Shrek! refers to a webcomic by drawerofdrawings in which a young boy calls a man at the bus stop "Shrek" and his mother scolds him while further insulting the man, telling her daughter, "that's just a bald, fat, ugly man with deformed ears and some sort of skin malady." The comic was posted to DeviantArt in May 2024 and became the subject of photoshops over the following months, largely on Reddit. That June, a specific edit posted to /r/bonehurtingjuice where the man responds, "Absolutely not go fuck yourself" to the mother went viral, inspiring further memes specifically referencing this variation on the comic and using the sentence as a catchphrase and the panel as a reaction image.
