El Perrito Super Gordito ("The Super Fat Doggy" in English) is the nickname of an obese dog laying on sand, which has been widely photoshopped into a variety of other base images.

Origin

The earliest known posting of the dog photograph was on the fitness blog MunFitness in a post titled "How to Help Your Dog Lose Weight with Slentrol" on October 25th, 2007 (shown below).

Spread

On August 23rd, 2012, BuzzFeed[5] published a listicle highlighting photographs of fat animals, which included the obese dog picture. On January 15th 2015, the Facebook page PerritoSuperGordito[3] was created, which highlights photoshops of the obese dog.
