Overview
The Brittany Venti Blackface Costume Controversy refers to an internet controversy surrounding a 2025 Halloween costume worn by Twitter / X user and content creator Brittany Venti (@BrittanyXVenti), showing her in Blackface as a minstrel caricature of a Black person with fried chicken. She wrote, "When that EBT hit," in the original tweet's caption, referring to electronic benefit transfer. She received backlash and accusations of racism en masse for the costume, but argued that she was half-Black and a "formerly Black woman." Venti was one of several female X users who posted Blackface costume photos for Halloween in 2025, including Emp4thchan and Lilly Gaddis.

@reel.takes @Brittany Venti if JD Vance leaves his wife for Erika Kirk, a lot of conservatives who push “traditional values” and the nuclear family would celebrate. Makes you wonder, eh? Conservative men and women keep ranting about how hard it is to find and keep partners, then they do stuff like this. #jdvance #erikakirk #charliekirk #politics #halloween ♬ original sound – Reel Takes
