Fish McBites Parodies refers to a series of video edits based on the advertising campaign for the McDonald's Fish McBites fried fish product. The most popular of these edits feature an anthropomorphized McDonald's McBite dancing in various situations.

Origin

In 2013, McDonald's introduced the McDonald's Fish McBites "small pieces of flaky whitefish dipped in batter and fried until they are golden brown, and served with tartar sauce for dipping."[1]

On February 4th, 2013, YouTuber sonixphere posted a McDonald Fish McBite commercial on YouTube. The post received more than 83,000 views in six years (shown below, left).

Later that month, YouTuber The Shanngod posted a video entitled "My Version of Mcdonald's Fishy fishy mcbites," a homemade remake of another McBite commercial (shown below, right).


Spread

On February 25th, 2013, the McDonald's commercial was uploaded YouTuber Daniel A. The video shows Fish McBite turn on his stereo and his famous song, "Fishy Fishy" comes on. He starts dancing to it and does many funky dance moves to the song. Within six years, the video received more than 540,000 views (shown below).

The following week, on March 2nd, YouTuber iFunClub1 posted a compilation of animated videos sent to the song in the commercial. The post received more than 541,000 views within six years (shown below, left).

On January 3rd, YouTuber Frank Bush posted a video of the anthropomorphized McBite set to a greenscreen background (shown below, right).


On January 23rd, 2019, Instagram user @bepis.man posted a remix of the clip, showing the Fish Mcbite dancing in various backgrounds and with many cool transitions. The post gained more than 110,000 views and 14,000 likes in one week (shown below).


Two days later, Instagram user @willmakememes4food posted a meme of Fish McBites. The post gained more than 144,000 views and 12,000 likes in less than a week (shown below).
