Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, also known as Tomodachi Life 2, is the sequel to the life simulation video game Tomodachi Life for the Nintendo 3DS handheld console released in April 2013. The sequel was shown during the March 27th, 2025 Nintendo Direct and it's scheduled for release sometime in 2026 for the Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. The game's trailer sparked the Tomodachi Life Giant Woman in mid-March 2025.

On March 27th, 2025, the first trailer for the life-simulation series Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream^[1] was announced as part of Nintendo’s “Direct” livestream event. The trailer showcases multiple Miis^[2] – Nintendo’s avatar and the game’s main characters, exploring the region of a coastal town, where Miis can interact. The trailer also revealed the game is set to release on the Nintendo Switch in 2026. The video (seen below) amassed more than 924,000 views and 77,000 likes in four days.

The sequel announcement sparked a wave of celebration and nostalgia among Tomodachi Life fans, who shared videos and memes related to the game on X, Reddit and TikTok.
