Fitchl's Lied ("Fitchl's Song") is a Schlager song written by Fred Schreier, Johaan Daansen and Herb Tomar in the 80s.
The song was originally recorded by the duo Die Woodys ("The Woodys") and released in 1984 on the album "Die Welt der Woodys – Fitchl's Lied".
The music video was posted in 2012 and became a source for many parodies and remixes.

The meme is based on a series of remixes of the original music video from 1984. The video is from a performance at an event called Superhitparade der Volksmusik.
Online, the song is also known as "Bavarian Remove Kebab" or "Remove Prussian".
The duo Die Woodys consisted of musicians Pascal Marshall and Thomas Franzmann and was active in the 80s.
The character "Fitchl" was both mentioned on this tune and in another track called "Fitchl's Tanz" ("Fitchl's Dance"), from the same album.

Many pages for The Woodys were created on Facebook and a fanclub was also created.
Interview with one of the artists
On Jun 24th, 2016, the keyboarder of the duo, Pascal Marshall, was interviewed by the network PULS.
Marshall was 17 years old when he performed back in 1984 and PULS stated that he was stunned when he watched the video years later.
Marshall said that the performance was bizarre, but it wasn't supposed to be funny.
He also said he's not embarrased and thinks it's funny.
