Forehead Touch Perspective refers to a series of three-panel artworks depicting various couples or duos touching their foreheads, from a side perspective and from the perspectives of each of the characters. Inspired by a viral drawing by rayas.rosae, the redraw format gained popularity in May 2021.

Origin

On September 23rd, 2020, Instagram^[1] user rayas.rosae posted a three-panel artwork depicting a couple touching their foreheads in affection. The second and third panels of the image showed humorously warped perspectives of each person in the couple (shown below). The post received over 14,300 likes in one year.

The second and third panels of the image use frames from June 20th, 2020, video by YouTuber^[8] Inutilismo as references (video shown below).

Spread

On January 21st, 2021, rayas.rosae posted a collection of 10 drawings of couples completed in the same format (examples shown below). The post garnered over 2,300 likes on Instagram^[2] in six months.

On May 7th, 2021, artist @BamK0_0 posted a three-panel artwork that copied the style of rayas.rosae's drawings (shown below). The post received over 1,800 retweets and 5,800 likes on Twitter^[3] in two months.

The artwork received viral spread online. A May 10th repost by iFunny^[4] user bak_zai gained over 17,000 smiles. On May 16th, Twitter^[5] user @Stralakkkj reposted the image, with the post gaining over 19,900 retweets and 102,000 likes.

The post inspired a redraw trend in which users utilized @BamK0_0's version as a reference, recreating it with various characters. For example, on May 20th, 2021, Twitter^[6] user @lunaerim posted a version with Sonic the Hedgehog characters Silver the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat that received over 700 retweets and 3,400 likes in two months. On May 31st, Twitter^[7] user @Taeoh707 posted a version with Genshin Impact characters Xiao and Venti, with the post accumulating over 1,200 retweets and 5,900 likes in the same period.
