About

From the Screen ๐Ÿ“บ To the Ring ๐ŸฅŠ To the Pen ๐Ÿ–Š๏ธ To the King ๐Ÿ‘‘ is a copypasta based on a lyric from YouTuber KSI's 2024 hip-hop song "Thick of It." Following the largely poor reception of the song by many online after its release in early October 2024, the copypasta gained virality as a spam comment and as a way to troll KSI on social media.

Origin

On October 3rd, 2024, YouTuber KSI's rap song "Thick of It" featuring Trippie Red premiered on YouTube[1] and music streaming services. In the song, KSI raps about his life journey, with the lyric "From the screen to the ring to the pen to the king" referencing him starting his career as a gaming YouTuber and then expanding to boxing and music and reaching success. The music video (shown below) garnered over 15 million views on YouTube in eight days.

In the wake of KSI's recent Lunchly controversy, the song was received poorly online by numerous users, inspiring various memes and jokes mocking it.

For example, on October 3rd, 2024, TikTok[2] user @marquitos.g posted a parody video captioned, "How KSI felt in the studio singing this," which received over 29.9 million views and 3.1 million likes in eight days (shown below).

Later on October 3rd, Redditor unsignificant figure posted the TikTok to the /r/ksi subreddit, pairing it with an emoji-filled copypasta based on the "From the screen" lyric. The post (shown below) garnered over 6,600 upvotes in eight days.

Spread

In the following week, the copypasta saw viral spread online as the lyrics were used as a spam comment and users replying with it to KSI's posts on X / Twitter as a way of trolling the YouTuber.

For example, on October 8th, 2024, X[3] user @RoarWeb3 posted a version of the copypasta in a reply to KSI's post, gaining over 1,400 reposts and 149,000 likes in three days (shown below).
