About

Gem Alert Magnifying Glass or Black Guy Looking Through Magnifying Glass, also known as the Looking At People's Phones Prank Edits, refers to a series of exploitable reaction image memes based on a screenshot from a prank video by TikToker @centinolivelyy in which he tries to secretly look at someone's phone screen on the train with a magnifying glass. The video was uploaded in early December 2025, and the screenshot quickly became the subject of edits, including redraws, many of which were posted as comments under the original post.

Most notably, an edit adding the text "gem alert," referencing the Gem and Coal memes, and replacing the phone with a diamond gem, went viral as a standalone reaction image. As a meme, the reaction image is used to praise a piece of content as a "gem."
