Gambling content on Twitch has been a big topic of discussion in the community, and something we've been actively reviewing since our last policy update in this area. Today, we want to update you on our plans. While we prohibit sharing links or referral codes to all sites that include slots, roulette, or dice games, we've seen some people circumvent those rules and expose our community to potential harm. So, we'll be making a policy update on October 18th to prohibit streaming of gambling sites that include slots, roulette, or dice games that aren't licensed either in the U.S. or other jurisdictions that provide sufficient consumer protection. These sites will include Stake.com, Rollbit.com, Duelbits.com, and Roobet.com. However, we may identify others as we move forward. We will continue to allow websites that focus on sports betting, fantasy sports, and poker. Get It Twisted, Gamble is a gamblecore copypasta that is a reverse of an anti-gambling speech said by Twitch streamer Trainwreckstv, known for his gamba streams. The copypasta advocates gambling, urging the reader to engage in it and promising them that they will win and become a billionaire. Following the viral spread of the copypasta in 2022, the phrase "get it twisted" gained independent virality, used as a reverse of the slang expression "don't get it twisted," meaning that what is said should not be taken at face value and with skepticism applied. The phrase gained particular popularity in streamer Northernlion's community due to repeated use of it by the streamer.

Origin

Prior to February 4th, 2022, during a livestream, streamer Trainwreckstv made a speech in which he spoke against gambling, telling his viewers to not engage in it despite himself frequently gambling on his streams. On February 4th, 2022, YouTube^[1] user BlackSnorlax uploaded a clip from the livestream, which received over 87,000 views in three years (shown below).

On January 5th, 2022, Redditor SirlronYT posted a copypasta based on the speech to the /r/copypasta^[2] subreddit, where it received over 140 upvotes in three years.

On May 16th, 2022, Redditor silberstoneloud posted an edit of the clip, replacing Trainwreckstv's speech with a speech that promoted gambling. The post (shown below) received over 1,700 upvotes in the /r/xqcow^[3] subreddit in three years.

On May 17th, 2022, Redditor AKAMARCUS2019 commented an emojipasta based on the speech in the comment section of the post (shown below).

On May 26th, YouTube^[4] user ffmpegging reuploaded the video of the altered speech by Trainwreck under the title "TRAIN TELLS YOU TO GAMBLE."

On August 7th, 2022, YouTube^[5] user Ethan uploaded a similar edit of another anti-gambling speech by Trainwreckstv, with the video (shown below) garnering over 89,000 views in two years.

Starting in May 2022, both the original speech by Trainwreck and its reversed "Get it twisted, gamble" version saw viral spread online, being spammed on Twitch and used as replies on social media.

For example, on May 25th, 2022, X^[6] user @PoliteSL used the copypasta as a caption for two images of streamer Ludwig pulling rare weapon skins in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that received over 80 reposts and 1,300 likes in roughly three years (shown below).

Get It Twisted

Following the popularization of the copypasta, the phrase "get it twisted" gained independent popularity as a reversed version of "don't get it twisted," typically being used to indicate that what is being said should be taken with skepticism. The phrase achieved particular popularity with streamer Northernlion and his community (example video shown below).
