Humanity's Worst Fear is a video remix series featuring a scene from the anime series Attack on Titan in which the character Reiner discovers a variety of humorous characters or disturbing scenes when opening a large wooden door.

Origin

On April 22nd, 2017, YouTuber punpun uploaded a video titled "Humanity's Worst Fear," featuring a scene from Attack on Titan Season 2 Episode 4, in which the Reiner investigates a room behind a wooden door to find a kid who yells "Kid the fuck out of my room I'm playing Minecraft" (shown below). In the description, punpun linked to a green screen version of the clip for others to make their own remixes.[1]

Spread

On April 23rd, YouTuber kmlalt uploaded a remix of the scene in which a man wearing a bunny costume is discovered behind the door (shown below, left). Meanwhile, YouTuber Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tubeman posted an edit featuring the character Shrek (shown below, right).

Also on April 23rd, YouTuber Dolan Darker posted a remix in which Reiner discovers Michael Stevens from Vsauce behind the door, who proceeds to smash the wood and stick his head out while saying "Hey, Vsauce, Michael here" (shown below). Within 48 hours, the video gained over 134,000 views and 1,100 comments.
