About
I Don't Really Care, Margaret refers to a catchphrase coined by Vice President J.D. Vance in an interview with CBS Face the Nation news anchor Margaret Brennan on January 27th, 2025. When pressed on his stance on immigration and refugee policies, J.D. Vance called into question the United States's vetting policies, citing the example of an Afghan national in Oklahoma who was arrested in October 2024 for allegedly planning a terrorist attack on Election Day. Brennan described the incident as a "very particular case," saying that it was unclear when the man was radicalized, to which Vance replied, "I don't really care, Margaret, I don't want that person in my country." The clip went viral in many conservative circles on the internet, with memes and jokes about "Chad J.D. Vance" making the rounds on Twitter / X in late January 2025.

When Margaret continues to push him on the topic, saying that it is unclear if the man was radicalized before arriving in the U.S. or after, J.D. Vance replies, "I don't really care, Margaret, I don't want that person in my country, and I think most Americans agree with me," at the 15:51 timestamp.
