WAGTFKY is an acronym that stands for We Are Going To Fucking Kill You, with the catchphrase often being paired with a photo of Vice President J.D. Vance, President Donald Trump or another Republican figurehead. X / Twitter user @CityBureaucrat altered a Vance fundraising email to read, "We Are Going To Fucking Kill You," in late August 2024, after which similar memes were popularized by jokes about the leaders' official portraits looking purposefully menacing and evil.

Origin

On August 27th, 2024, X^[1] user @CityBureaucrat posted a tweet about how he was receiving "increasingly threatening" fundraising emails from J.D. Vance. The user then posted a photoshopped version parodying the image, altering it from "This Could Be My Final Message" to "We Are Going To Fucking Kill You." The post gathered over 400 likes in five months.

On October 28th, 2024, X^[2] user @woke8yearold reposted the image with the caption, "Yet another anti-Trump Vance meme that ends up looking extremely badass," gathering over 11,000 likes in three months.

On January 16th, 2025, X^[8] user @ManDaveJobGood posted an image of J.D. Vance's official VP portrait, writing, "I think he might actually want us to caption every single image of him with 'We are going to fucking kill you,'" and gathering over 12,000 likes in two weeks.

On January 19th, X^[7] user @The_WGD posted an image of Vance with Han Zheng, the Vice President of China, writing, "It's really true that every picture of him is 'we are going to fucking kill you, dawg' coded." The post gathered over 13,000 likes in 10 days.

On January 20th, 2025, X^[4] user @kikisknees posted a meme showing Barron Trump with glowing laser eyes, gathering over 200 likes in nine days on a post captioned, "WAGTFKY…and we have 4 years to make it perfect."

Also on January 20th, X^[6] user @sadreturns posted an image showing J.D. and Usha Vance in a car dressed in black tie attire alongside the words "We Are Going To Fucking Kill You." The post gathered over 140 likes in nine days.

On January 21st, 2025, X^[5] user @sadreturns posted a thread of similar images featuring various Republican figures alongside the text "We Are Going To Fucking Kill You," receiving roughly 10,000 views and 200 likes in eight days.

On January 22nd, X^[3] user @shortmagsmle posted a tweet that read, "The government officially adopting the name 'Mount McKinley' should be interpreted as a warning that WAGTFKY. Hope that helps! 👋." The post gathered over 6,000 likes in a week.

On January 26th, 2025, X^[4] user @AnimeBallSnot posted an image of J.D. Vance and Daniel Penny alongside the words "We're just going to fucking kill you." The tweet was posted in response to a clip of J.D. Vance saying, I don't really care, Margaret. The post gathered over 200 likes in three days.
