"I Hate Being Alive" Boogie2988 refers to a viral clip of YouTuber Boogie2988 (aka Boogie) freaking out on the Lolcow Live podcast after Keemstar asked him to explain his cancer scam allegations. In the clip, Boogie is seen repeatedly screaming, "I want to die!" and "I hate being alive!" The viral video became a TikTok green-screen meme and reaction video on Twitter / X in mid-2024.

Origin

On July 22nd, 2024, YouTubers Keemstar and Wings Of Redemption streamed with Boogie2988 on the Lolcow Live YouTube[1] channel, gaining over 340,000 views in nine days. At the stream's 56:14-minute mark,[2] Keemstar says to Boogie, "Why don't you say what you want to say about the situation," (as in Boogie's Cancer Scam Allegations) to which Boogie screams, "I want to die!" and "I hate being alive!"

The livestream was age-restricted on YouTube but a reupload of the clip was shared by YouTuber[3] Baggy Bites on July 23rd (shown below).

The clip was used in memes in the following days as it spread. An early example was shared by TikToker[4] @alligator_squid on July 26th, 2024, who added text reading, "Me as soon as I get home after making people laugh all day at work by acting like a complete goof," gaining over 50,300 likes in six days (shown below, left).

On July 27th, TikToker[5] @igreenscreenthings posted a greenscreen template of the clip, gaining over 377,700 plays and 14,100 likes in five days (shown below, right).

On July 31st, 2024, X[6] user @Howlingmutant0 shared a Content Aware Scaling version of the clip, with a caption reading, "Saying 'Let’s goooooo let’s get this money boys!!!' every morning in every group chat I’m in and meanwhile internally I’m," receiving over 2,200 likes in a day (shown below).

Others on X[7] then used the video for their own viral posts.
