Origin

On March 18th, 2019, parody song producer SHAKAMANIA X posted a meme rap remix of J. Cole's 2019 song "Middle Child" to YouTube^[1] (age-restricted) titled "Gay Cole – Gay Child" in which all the lyrics are replaced with lyrics referencing gay sex acts. The video gained over 187,000 views in two years. It was reuploaded to YouTube on August 1st, gaining over 24,000 views in a month (shown below).

Spread

On June 16th, 2021, TikToker^[6] @dagamer_3 posted a video using an original sound consisting of a segment of "Gay Child" where the lyrics "I just took a penis in my butt, I just wanted something I could feel" play, gaining over 432,000 views in roughly three months (shown below).

The sound did not see significant use until August 2021 when a number of videos began going viral using it. For example, on August 9th, TikTokers^[2][3] @notmaeven and @autumntops posted videos using the sound, gaining over 1.7 million and 1.2 million views respectively in just under a month (shown below, left and right).

On August 14th, TikToker^[4] @therealnatashanoel posted a video dancing to the song in an Elastigirl cosplay, gaining over 3.3 million views in three weeks (shown below, left). On August 29th, TikToker^[5] @randy_fuhr posted a video failing to sink a basket in a small basketball hoop set to the song, gaining over 6.2 million views in three days (shown below, right).
