The ICL TS PMO Copypasta, also known as ICL TS PMO SM N SB RN NGL, refers to a copypasta of multiple slang abbreviations starting with ICL TS PMO. The terms "ICL" ("I can't lie"), "TS" ("this shit") and "PMO" ("piss me off") were heavily used on TikTok and Twitter / X in 2024 and 2025, originally by Black internet users as a part of online AAVE. The terms were co-opted and bastardized by non-Black internet users in a series of Brainrot videos, leading to the ICL TS PMO Copypasta which used Slang Overload to satirize the use of the abbreviations.

Origin

On January 23rd, 2025, multiple X^[1][2][3] users tweeted:

icl ts pmo sm n sb rn ngl, r u srsly srs n fr rn vro? lol atp js go 💔… b fr vro, idek nm, brb gng gtg atm lmao, bt ts pyo 2 js lmk lol onb fr.

The earliest tweet on the day was shared by X^[1] user @ThatguyKohen at 2:47 a.m. EST. None of the posts received viral engagement. It's currently unknown where the users sourced the copypasta from.

However, on January 23rd, TikToker^[4] @lawliet_toes posted a video with the Dancing Little Squid Game Guard format, adding a wall of TS PMO ICL text that resembled the abovementioned copypasta, gaining over 81,900 likes in three weeks (shown below). An earlier viral use has not yet been discovered.

Spread

In the following days, the use of the copypasta spread online. For instance, on January 27th, 2025, TikToker^[5] @yn_reposts posted a Druski Dancing meme with the copypasta overlayed in text, gaining over 205,700 likes in 18 days (shown below).

On February 2nd, X^[6] user @reenzy tweeted the copypasta, gaining over 1,000 likes in 12 days (shown below).

On February 11th, 2025, the official TikTok^[7] account of the Brooklyn Nets NBA team posted a video with an extended version of the ICL TS PMO Copypasta, which read:

The video had a top caption joking, "Future historians will never decipher our hieroglyphics," gaining over 335,700 likes in 12 days (shown below).
