Overview
IShowSpeed's China Tour refers to a multi-week livestream event that started in late March 2025 in which YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed (Speed) traveled to several Chinese cities to create content, including a six-hour non-stop broadcast in Beijing and Shanghai. Speed's event attracted thousands of fans to accompany his adventures, which featured a special kung-fu class, climbing the love ladder, going to the Great Wall of China and meeting the creator of the Super Idol 的笑容 meme. The tour also notably garnered significant media attention and sparked discourse online.
Background
On March 18th, 2025, YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed[1] announced that he would be traveling to China and Mongolia on March 24th, 2025, as part of his IRL livestreams worldwide. The trailer amassed over 700,000 views and 29,000 likes in two weeks (seen below).
On March 24th, 2025, Speed[2] posted a video about his first day in China, exploring Shanghai streets and interacting with fans. The video (seen below) amassed over 1.7 million views and 54,000 likes in a week.

IShowSpeed's Great Wall of China Visit
On March 26th, 2025, the X[3] page @DailyLoud posted a video of IShowSpeed during his visit to the Great Wall of China in which he claims to be the first person to do a backflip on the monument. The video (seen below) received more than 1.5 million views and 24,000 likes in a week.
The tweet was subsequently given a Community Note disproving the claim, which stated that the earliest recorded video of someone doing a backflip was from 16 years prior.

IShowSpeed's Shaolin Monk Training
On March 28th, 2025, the streamer took part in a Shaolin monk training skit, learning kung fu stances and performing his skills to his audience while wearing a fake bald cap.
That same day, X[4] user @destroynectar posted a thread of Speed's Shalolin monk training session (seen below), which garnered over 40 million views and 278,000 likes in four days.

On March 31st, 2025, X[5] user @knowncapo posted a fan edit of IShowSpeed's wholesome interaction with his Kung Fu master (seen below), which received more than 322,000 views and 18,000 likes in a day.

On March 30th, 2025, the streamer posted a video on X[6] climbing the Love Ladder of Fuxi Mountain (seen below), which amassed over 71 million views and 311,000 likes in two days.

IShowSpeed Meets Super Idol
On March 31st, 2025, IShowSpeed met the creator of the Super Idol 的笑容 meme, recreating his viral video (seen below), which was later posted on TikTok[7] by user @jcpesa. The video amassed over 4 million plays and 259,000 likes in a day.

CCP Funding IShowSpeed’s Tour
On March 26th, 2025, IShowSpeed’s China Tour faced allegations that the Communist Party of China (CCP) was funding his trip to that country. For example, X[10] user @amuse posted a video from Speed’s livestream, writing, "Wonder what IShowSpeed got from the CCP for his visit?" The post amassed roughly 60,000 views and 307 likes in five days. (seen below)

On March 28th, 2025, IShowSpeed’s team denied any sponsorship from the CCP for his visit to the country.[11]
Online Reactions
IShowSpeed's China tour sparked numerous viral clips, fan edits and memes about the streamer's interaction with fans and other people while exploring the country.
For instance, on March 31st, 2025, a random man gifted the streamer with a banana wrapped in KFC packaging, followed by a racist act of making monkey sounds to mock the content creator. TikTok[8] user @greke_editor shared a clip of the moment that day (seen below), which amassed more than 35 million plays and 4 million likes in a day.

On the same day, the streamer was approached by a Chinese girl in Chengdu, who shouted at him, "I am racist," and made other derogatory claims like using the N-word, saying she is an "N-word killer."
The X[9] page @SeeRacists posted a clip on March 31st, 2025, showing the moment the woman appears in IShowSpeed's livestream, which garnered over 2 million views and 19,000 likes in a day.
