Jujutsu Kaisen Ending refers to a viral debate revolving around the upcoming ending of the manga Jujutsu Kaisen and the many unresolved plotlines left unresolved by the author Gege Akutami. The ending was announced in mid-August 2024, sparking protests by fans who believed their favorite character Satoru Gojo would return. The news also sparked a series of memes and jokes comparing the ending of the series with the also popular manga My Hero Academia Ending Controversy.

On August 19th, 2024, X[1] page @WSJ_manga revealed that the Jujutsu Kaisen manga will be ending in 5 more chapters in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #44 out on September 30th, 2024. The announcement (seen below) amassed more than 11,000 likes and 4,900 reposts in three days.

The_Jujutu Kaisen_ ending announcement was perceived as "rushed" by some fans, who pointed out a series of plots and unresolved mysteries unaddressed by the series. For example, on August 19th, 2024, X[2] user @Creatormigraine posted the Tommy Shelby Holding a Gun to His Head meme accompanied by a few things they wished appeared in the manga before it ends, captioning "yeah we lost." The post (seen below) amassed over 1.3 million views and 44,000 likes in three days.

On August 19th, 2024, X[3] user posted a fan art of two JJK characters with the text "Yo wdym we only got five chapters left?" The post (seen below) received roughly 32,000 likes and 2,900 reposts in three days.
TikTokers also posted some memes related to the manga series ending. For instance, on August 20th, 2024, TikTok user @gojospocketputhy69[4] post (seen below) amassed more than 218,000 plays and 54,000 likes in a day.

Jujutsu Kaisen Ending Debate
Even though the series would officially end on September 30th, 2024 with Chapter 271 in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #44, the chapter leaked a few days prior, on September 26th, 2024. becoming a viral topic among fans. For instance, X[5] user @shiggishot posted a video showing his reaction after_Jujutsu Kaisen's_ ending, comparing with My Hero Academia's manga ending. The post (seen below) amassed over 19,000 likes and 1,800 reposts in a day.

On September 27th, 2024, Redditor[6] u/Enenra444 started a debate on the r/Jujutsufolk channel, asking other fans about their thoughts on the ending of the series (seen below), which received over 341 upvotes and 417 comments in a few hours.
