Jump In The Pool If refers to an exploitable video set to $oFaygo's 2019 song "Knock Knock" showing a number of people jumping into a pool under the snowclone phrase, "Jump in the pool if X," with each person labeled as someone or something related to "X." The format began on Twitter in late March 2021, spreading to Instagram and TikTok that month and increasing in use over the course of April.

Origin

On July 19th, 2019, rapper NLE Choppa's YouTube[1] channel posted a music video for his song "Shotta Flow 3" (shown below). Throughout the video, a number of people jump into a pool.

On March 27th, 2021, Twitter[9] user @Kurokatsune posted a video labeling a compilation of the pool jumpers from the NLE Choppa music video with various anime titles, writing, "Jump in the pool if you’re not mid:" (shown below). This is the earliest known video following the trend.

On March 31st, a number of TikTokers uploaded videos labeling a compilation of the pool jumpers from the video. It's unknown who first brought the trend to TikTok, with likely users being TikTokers[2][3][4] @donnieuchiha, whose video (shown below, left) gained 23,000 views in a month, @starwarfan7, whose video gained over 53,000 views, (shown below, middle) or @seahawks.content3, whose post gained over 600,000 views in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On March 31st, 2021, Instagram[8] page 49ers.gang shared seahawks.content3's TikTok, garnering over 9,400 plays and 2,200 likes. TikToker Donnie Uchiha (@donnieuchiha) continued making variations of the meme, with one on March 31st titled "Jump in the pool if you are amazing" gaining over 1.1 million views in a month (shown below).

Over the course of April, a number of other TikTokers and Instagram users made videos following the trend, many set to the sound "Basketball," consisting of $oFaygo's "Knock Knock." On April 1st, Instagram user @sage.mode.patrick posted a "Naruto": themed version of the meme, garnering over 103,000 views and 15,000 likes in four weeks (shown below).

On April 5th, TikToker[5] @jump.in.the.pool.if posted a video following the trend categorizing "dead on arrival" video games, garnering over 45,000 views in three weeks (shown below, left). On April 14th, TikToker[6] @longcumsh0t posted another variation of the meme, garnering over 86,000 views in two weeks (shown below, right).

On April 25th, TikToker[7] @idc.sukuna posted a video titled, "jump in the water if you like little kids," with labels including accused predators EDP445 and Zoe Lavern, garnering over 34,000 views in three days (shown below).
