Flashing a sphinx-like smile and without ever speaking in public, Ms. Kim managed to outflank Mr. Trump’s envoy to the Olympics, Vice President Mike Pence, in the game of diplomatic image-making.

On Twitter, the article was quickly met with backlash from the critics of the North Korean government, including journalists in South Korea and conservatives in the United States, as well as op-ed articles from the New York Post[9] and Mediate[11] denouncing the newspaper's seemingly empathetic profile of the dictator's sister and a high-ranking official within the Workers' Party of Korea.
