About
"Kreygasm" is an emoticon featuring a portrait of Twitch streamer Kreyg,[8] which is often used in chats on the video streaming service to indicate an intense feeling of elation or pleasure.
Origin
In a Twitter exchange with Twitch employee Hassan Bokhari[2] held in July 2014, Kreyg submitted the original kreygasm photo to the video streaming service several years prior (shown below).

According to an email from Kreyg sent to Know Your Meme staff, a Justin.tv admin approached Kreyg in March of 2011 to have his likeness made into a global chat emoticon. In August of that year, the term "kreygasm" was coined during one of Kreyg's Twitch streams. Kreyg subsequently took a photo of himself and submitted it to Twitch to become an emoticon (shown below). On September 3rd, 2011, a thread about Twitch emoticons was updated with several new faces that had been added, which included the kreygasm face.[6]

Spread
On July 10th, 2013, a Facebook[5] page titled "Kreygasm" was launched. On August 15th, a document containing an ASCII art version of the kreygasm face was uploaded to Pastebin[3] (shown below).[3] In October, the ASCII was highlighted on the Twitch ASCII blog.[4]
