Logging Into Twitter, The Video Ends When I Get Mad refers to memes and jokes using the thumbnail of a YouTube video originally posted by YouTuber T1J in June 2024. The thumbnail is typically edited as a recaption format to read, "opening X, the video ends when I get mad," with a reference to one's choice being subbed in for "X." The reaction image meme has also been the subject of redraws and exploitable edits, primarily on Twitter / X, Tumblr and Reddit in the latter half of 2024.
Origin
On June 26th, 2024, YouTuber[1] T1J posted an eight-second-long video titled, "logging into twitter, the video ends when I get mad." The video gathered over 42,000 views in five months.
The earliest known repost of the thumbnail was a June 29th, 2024, tweet by X[2] user @mywheelhouseftw, which gathered over 1,800 likes in five months. The image was reposted to iFunny[5] on June 30th by ColtCaDaddy, where it gathered over 1,000 smiles in the same timeframe.
On June 30th, X[3] user @Demon_Realms quoted the video, writing, "This video would be 72 hours long for me. Discourse washes over me like a smooth river stone." The post gathered over 50,000 likes in five months.
Spread
On June 30th, 2024, X[4] user @RosenGaldr posted an edited version of the thumbnail where "Logging into Twitter" was replaced by "Opening Fear & Hunger," a reference to a 2018 horror survival game. The post gathered over 3,000 likes in five months.
On July 24th, X[6] user @TheMrPasquale reposted the thumbnail as a reaction meme responding to news that Michael Bay may be directed an incoming Skibidi Toilet film. The post gathered over 200,000 likes in four months.
On September 10th, X[7] user @chiscaraDNI posted a redraw of the meme to feature the character Scaramouche from Genshin Impact. The post gathered over 4,000 likes in two months.
On November 19th, 2024, X[8] user @404paigenotfnd posted a version of the image, edited to read, "logging into Outlook," gathering over 130,000 likes in a day.
