About

*Megamind's "I Did It?" / "He Did It!" is an exploitable object labeling meme template taken from a scene in Megamind.

Origin

The meme comes from a scene in the Dreamworks film Megamind, which was released in theatres in the United States on November 10th, 2010.[1] In the scene, Megamind takes Roxanne Ritchi hostage inside of a fake observatory in order to trap Metro Man inside of the real abandoned observatory. Metro Man poorly attempts to escape from the observatory while Megamind's death ray charges up in order to fire upon it and Metro Man. Eventually the death ray fires, causing a massive explosion. Megamind and Minion doubt the blast could have actually killed Metro Man, and sees what looks like Metro Man flying toward them. However, as the object gets closer it lands directly onto Megamind, which is revealed to be a skeleton in Metro Man's cape. Megamind slowly realizes that he had defeated Metro Man, and says "I did it?". Meanwhile the mayor of Metro City, as well as the warden of Metro City's Prison for the Criminally Gifted, say "He did it!".
