Origin

On January 8th, 2024, X^[1] account @SO0u0o posted an iMessage screenshot that gathered over 112,000 likes in four days (seen below). The image showed a person criticizing someone for replying to their "meow" message with a "meow," calling them a "grown ass man," to which the poster responded with "BITCH??" The post was captioned, "HOW ELSE WAS I SUPPOSED TO RESPOND?"

On January 8th, 2024, X^[2] user @merchlingwylan quoted the aforementioned post depicting Osamu Dazai and Chuuya Nakahara from Dead Apple having the conversation, gathering over 3,000 likes in four days (seen below, left). On January 9th, X^[3] user @PokezillaZ_07 made a similar post showing Irida and Adaman from Pokémon, gathering over 5,000 likes in three days (seen below, right).

Also on January 9th, X^[4] user @akechilokigay posted an image showing Persona characters having the iMessage conversation, gathering over 3,000 likes in three days (seen below, left). On January 10th, X^[5] user @nehezt posted art depicting characters from Kung Fu Panda carrying on the iMessage conversation, gathering over 132,000 likes in two days (seen below, right).
