MrBeast's "1,000 Blind People See for the First Time" is a viral video by YouTuber MrBeast in which he sponsors eye surgeries for 1,000 people suffering from preventable blindness. After being uploaded in late January 2023, the video spawned a viral debate online, including reactions to MrBeast's charitable work and users comparing MrBeast to both Jesus and the Antichrist.
Origin
On January 28th, 2023, YouTuber[1] MrBeast uploaded a video titled "1,000 Blind People See For The First Time" in which he sponsored eye surgeries for a thousand people with preventable blindness around the world, also gifting large sums of money to some of them. The video garnered over 43 million views in two days (shown below).
On the same day, MrBeast then tweeted[2] about the video, with the tweet gaining over 5,800 retweets and 142,000 likes in two days. Also that day, Dexerto tweeted[3] a clip from the video, with the tweet accumulating over 9 million views, 25,900 retweets and 254,000 likes in a similar timeframe.

The video then sparked a viral debate online in late January 2023, with some users drawing comparisons between MrBeast and Jesus, and others comparing the YouTuber to the antichrist. For example, on January 28th, Twitter[4] user @aimpony10k wrote, "this mf just decided to become jesus," with the post gaining over 740 retweets and 10,100 likes in two days (shown below, left). On January 29th, Twitter[5] user @mkuItra2trappy made a tweet in which they called MrBeast an antichrist, with the tweet garnering over 650 retweets and 6,200 likes in one day (shown below, right).
More posts comparing MrBeast to Jesus and the antichrist were posted on January 28th and 29th, 2023. For example, on January 28th, Twitter[6] user @SmallAnt made a tweet that received over 3,000 retweets and 59,700 likes in two days (shown below, left). On January 29th, Twitter[7] account @greentexts_bot posted a screenshot of a 4chan thread arguing that MrBeast is the antichrist, with the post gaining over 80 retweets and 1,200 likes in less than 24 hours (shown below, right).
