MrBeast Kid Deepfakes, also known as MrBeast Children or MrBeast as a Kid, refers to a series of AI-generated deepfake videos in which the face of MrBeast is added to people. Predominantly posted to TikTok in mid-2023 by seemingly Russian creators, the MrBeast deepfakes were mostly of children with MrBeast's face. Many of the videos were set to the song "Butterfly" by Smile.dk ("I was searching for a man, all across Japan").

Origin

Currently, the first known MrBeast Deepfake video was posted on August 6th, 2023, by TikToker^[1] @misterbeast_deepfake, in which MrBeast's face was placed on a boy trying to chop wood. The video had a watermark that linked to the Telegram deep_fake_free_bot. Over the course of 16 days, the video gained roughly 783,600 plays and 59,300 likes (shown below).

Spread

On August 7th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @wearble posted a compilation of MrBeast deepfakes set to the song "Butterfly by Smile.dk, leading with the lyrics, "I was searching for a man, all across Japan." Over the course of 15 days, the video gained roughly 3.2 million plays and 331,300 likes (shown below, left). Also on August 7th, TikToker^[3] @viktorlgp posted a similar video, receiving roughly 2.6 million plays and 269,500 likes in the same timeframe (shown below, right).

Going into August 2023, MrBeast deepfakes continued to trend on the app, such as a video posted by TikToker^[4] @niallhoranomg on August 21st, 2023, which received roughly 3.8 million plays and 604,700 likes in one day (shown below).
