Yo Y Los Papus refers to an exaggerated cartoon drawing of MrBeast and the other creators behind his YouTube channel. The original image was posted to Twitter in late 2020. Various image macros and videos used the drawing as an exploitable. The meme also relates in general to the Me and the Boys trend from 2019.

On October 7th, 2020, notable YouTuber MeatCanyon posted a tweet[1] of a recent drawing he'd made depicting MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, and his fellow YouTube collaborators Chris Tyson, Chandler Hallow and Karl Jacobs. The tweet (shown below) received roughly 35,900 likes over the course of one year.

In addition to the drawing, MeatCanyon uploaded a video to YouTube titled, "I SAVED A HUMAN LIFE – CHALLENGE," being a parody of a MrBeast challenge. The video (shown below) received roughly 23.7 million views over the course of one year.

The image was first exploited within a meme on December 10th, 2020, when Redditor No-Marketing-5260 made a post to /r/teenagers,[2] captioning the image, "Me and the boys during the online school in the morning," and earning roughly 12,200 upvotes over the course of a year (shown below).

However, the most dominant trend going forward started in late 2021 when meme creators started remixing and photoshopping different people and characters into the cartoon. For instance, on November 15th, 2021, Twitter[3] user MoaiGr posted a remixed version, editing in the likeness of four Spanish-speaking streamers. The meme (shown below) earned roughly 3,700 likes over the course of two months.

Going into December, more Twitter users hopped onto the re-draw trend. On December 1st, Twitter[4] user JuanSGuarnizo posted an iteration, earning roughly 27,900 likes in two months (shown below, left). On December 2nd, Twitter[5] user ALK4PON3_OOC also posted an iteration, earning over 900 likes in the same amount of time (shown below, right).

On November 27th, YouTube channel Pablex 123 uploaded a compilation of multiple image macros, gaining roughly 260,800 views in two months (shown below, left). On December 4th, 2021, YouTuber Mordo Alt posted a longer-form video using the Yo Y Los Papus meme, amassing roughly 4 million views in one month (shown below, right).
