About
Mythical FYP Pull, also known as Mythical Reels Pull, refers to a TikTok and Instagram Reels comment trend in which users praise the algorithm for giving them a good, usually unique video on their "For You" page or "Explore" page. The adjective "mythical" was the most common but other adjectives were substituted in like "legendary" or "epic," following the "X FYP Pull" phrasal template.
Origin
Comments reading "Mythical FYP Pull" started sometime in April 2024. Currently, the first discovered video referencing the comment trend was posted by TikToker[1] @theoirl on April 24th, 2024, who criticized the trend, saying it "was funny the first 10 times let's think of something different to comment now!" In one month, the video received roughly 72,400 plays and 1,100 likes (shown below).

Also on April 24th, 2024, TikToker[2] @dub_321 posted a video in which he responded to a comment reading, "mythic pull," gaining over 10,900 plays in a month (shown below).

Spread
Videos referencing the comment trend continued going into May 2024, such as a video posted by TikToker[3] @lifeaccordingtoeli on April 29th, 2024, who wrote, "pov you're scrolling and your fyp blesses you with the mystical triple zero pull (zero likes, zero hashtags, zero follower account)," gaining over 29,200 plays and 2,700 likes in a month (shown below).

The comment trend was then largely popularized by the Late Night Finds trend, evident in a comment left on TikToker[4] @him42625's May 3rd, 2024 video, reading, "mythic fyp pull," gaining over 15,300 likes in three weeks (shown below).
On May 18th, 2024, Instagram[5] user @yocrizp posted two memes in a carousel post that referenced the comment trend, comparing people who post the comments to robots or NPCs, gaining over 1,300 likes in three days (shown below).
