Origin

On July 3rd, 2026, Backrooms: Everything Must Go Edition, a cut of the film Backrooms by Kane Parsons with 15 additional minutes of footage added as a post-credits scene, was released in theaters. The additional 15 minutes were later posted to Kane Parsons' YouTube^[1] channel, Kane Pixels, gaining over 4 million views in a month.

At the end of the video, the researchers in the backrooms find a room with a TV. The TV plays a looping song over footage that routinely cuts to a blue screen with Chinese lettering in the center. The word purportedly translates to, "No signal," suggesting the TV signal is being interrupted by something like an entity.

On July 7th, 2026, YouTuber^[2] IVNB611 posted a recreation of the "No Signals" song, gaining over 122,000 views in two months. According to the description, the sample is called, "SOULSURPLUS_elevador_melodic_loop_6_piano_chords_bossa_nova_jazz_78_bpm_Bmin.wav."

On August 18th, TikToker^[4] @edensonicmaniagd posted a video set to the song using Sonic the Hedgehog footage, which is interrupted with the "No Signal" blue screen, garnering over 440,000 views in a month.

On August 24th, TikToker^[5] @thesamydonut2 posted a similar edit using footage from the Backrooms movie, garnering over 282,000 views in a month.
