Oh Denise, also known as O Denise or O Denise Sai Da Live Filha, refers to a viral video of Brazilian singer-songwriter Jojo Maronttinni, also known as Jojo Todynho, telling a woman named Denise to get out of a TikTok LIVE. Her quote roughly translates from Portuguese to English, "Oh Denise, get out of the live, girl." The clip became the subject of an exploitable video series on TikTok in early 2025. Meme creators placed Maronttinni in different settings by overlaying PNGs and filters on the original video. The videos also replaced the audio, sometimes running her quote through an AI voice filter to fit the given setting or nationality stereotype. Many of the iterations showed Maronttinni in different countries and translated her catchphrase to the chosen country's language. The memes first trended on Brazilian FlopTok when the original video was taken in 2023.

Origin

On February 10th, 2023, YouTuber^[1] Nanda shared a full-length recording of a TikTok LIVE hosted by Brazilian singer-songwriter Jojo Maronttinni, also known as Jojo Todynho, receiving over 16,600 views in two years. At the livestream's 15:20-minute mark (shown below), Todynho addresses a comment, saying, "Ô Denise, sai da live filha," roughly translating to, "Oh Denise, get out of the live, girl."

Oh Denise, get out of the live, girl. No one called you here, damn it. What are you doing here?

Also on February 10th, TikToker^[2] @bzzma_ shared a meme with the abovementioned clip, adding a caption in Portuguese roughly translating to, "When I'm gossiping with my besties and the girl who thinks she's our friend joins the conversation," gaining over 698,900 likes in two years (shown below).

The abovementioned video spawned a TikTok sound^[3] that was used by other creators in the following months. For instance, on February 14th, 2023, TikToker^[4] @matheusalexandre_ shared a video with the sound, receiving over 137,800 likes in two years (shown below).

The original TikTok sound^[3] amassed over 6,200 posts by March 2025.

On January 14th, 2025, TikToker^[5] @niccexausto reposted the original clip, gaining over 2 million likes in two months. On January 16th, TikToker^[6] @brielkskjs also reposted the clip, receiving over 433,900 likes in two months. The two viral reposts sparked a series of Oh Denise memes in the following months.

On March 13th, TikToker^[7] @o.senhor.aleatorio shared a remake of the video that showed Jojo Todynho in Paris, France and AI translated her quote into French. The video received over 1.4 million likes in six days (shown below).

Multiple TikTokers began making and sharing similar edits of the Oh Denise meme. For instance, on March 15th, 2025, TikToker^[8] @random_.shyt_ posted a Russian version of the meme, gaining over 255,700 likes in four days (shown below).

The iterations became increasingly absurd thereafter, evident in a meme posted by TikToker^[9] @crazyforpresunto on March 18th, which showed Jojo Todynho in Bikini Bottom with SpongeBob SquarePants' voice, receiving over 47,100 likes in a day (shown below).
