Pajama Guy is a forced meme stock photo of a man in pajamas holding a pillow introduced to the subreddit Me_irl so a student would be able to wear pajamas on meme day. The image first introduced by Redditor ItsaMeHibob24 in January 2020, spread throughout numerous posts in the subreddit.

Origin

On January 28th, 2020, Redditor ItsaMeHibob24 posted a stock photo to r/me_irl^[2] of a man in pajamas featuring the text, "my school is having a 'meme day' where we can dress like a meme r/me_irl, please make this image a meme so I can wear pajamas" (shown below). The post garnered over 62,000 points (81% upvoted) in two days.

Spread

On January 28th, 2020, Redditor FallenLemur posted a you son of a bitch, I'm in reaction image to the initial post on r/me_irl^[3] (shown below, left). The image received over 1,000 points (84% upvoted) in two days. That day, Redditor DaddyTooHot_ included the stock photo in a meme about fashion sense posted to r/me_irl^[4] and accumulated over 19,000 points (95% upvoted) in two days.

That same day, Redditor Mr-Emil included the stock photo in a drakeposting meme posted to r/me_irl^[5] which garnered over 42,200 points (89% upvoted) in two days (shown below, left). The next day, Redditor eyalchen made an it's Wednesday my dudes edit and posted it to r/me_irl^[6] (shown below, right). The post gained over 1,700 points (89% upvoted) in a day. StayHipp^[1] published an article on the meme the next day.
