Burt Obeng, also known as Daddy Burt, is a season 3 cast member of Sam Hyde's reality web series Fishtank Live. He's a 35-year-old sex worker and OnlyFans model from New Jersey. On Fishtank, Burt gained a large fandom who found pleasure in his seemingly schizophrenic antics like long monologues orated away from other contestants. On Fishtank

On October 27th, 2024, Fishtank season 3 was announced via a trailer upload to the Fishtank YouTube^[1] channel.

Later on the same day, YouTuber^[2] ReactSimply shared a clip of Burt's confessional on the first day. In it, he joked that his name Burt was an acronym for "Black Urban Ripped Trainer." Among other things, he said he joined the show to get his name out, build connections and get more followers. The video received over 7,000 views in 16 days (shown below).

In the following weeks, YouTubers, TikTokers and X users, among other internet users, began sharing videos of Burt, much of which centered on the perception that Burt had schizoid tendencies. For instance, on October 31st, 2024, YouTuber^[11] Darkon Vail shared a video called "Burt Schizo Moment," gaining over 15,000 views in 12 days (shown below).

On November 4th, X^[12] user @ZyxylzYT shared a clip of Burt talking to Same Hyde about his age, gaining over 2,400 likes in eight days (shown below).

YouTubers, TikTokers and X users, among other internet users, began sharing memes and fan content centered on Burt Obeng. For instance, on October 30th, 2024, TikToker^[13] @blazekushman posted a video of Burt stabbing the air with a knife set to horror movie music from Psycho. The video received over 177,400 plays and 18,900 likes in 13 days (shown below).
