Death Sentence, also known as Maraji Johnson, is the nickname of an amateur mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter on the YouTube channel StreetBeefs. Death Sentence always wears a Naruto headband when he fights. Death Sentence's first StreetBeefs fight was in May 2023. He accrued a fandom within the StreetBeefs community heading into the following years. Death Sentence is known for his catchphrase, "I'm gonna end this in two seconds!" In May 2025, Death Sentence won his first StreetBeefs fight, leading to memes, edits and fancams on platforms like TikTok.

Online History

Death Sentence's first StreetBeefs fight was posted to the Baltimore-based YouTube[1] channel on May 9th, 2023. He faced off against a fighter named Surfo and lost the match. The video received over 352,000 views and 6,200 likes in two years (shown below).



On August 16th, Death Sentence appeared in a new StreetBeefs YouTube[2] video against a fighter named Miles. Death Sentence lost the fight. Over two years, the video received roughly 932,200 views (shown below).



By late 2023, posts about Death Sentence began appearing in the /r/streetbeefs[3] subreddit.

On December 18th, 2023, professional MMA fighter Demetrious Johnson reacted to one of Death Sentence's fights on his YouTube[4] channel Mighty, gaining over 438,700 views in two years (shown below).



Death Sentence continued to appear on the StreetBeefs YouTube channel in 2024. On July 15th, 2024, YouTuber[5] Chiseled Adonis posted a compilation of Death Sentence's career highlights, gaining over 299,400 views in 10 months (shown below).



On November 10th, YouTuber[6] LosPlug uploaded a clip of Twitch streamer LosPollosTV and his dad watching Death Sentence videos, receiving over 248,100 views in six months (shown below).



First Win

On May 3rd, 2025, Death Sentence fought Illuminate the State in a StreetBeefs YouTube[7] video and won the battle, recording his first career win. The video received over 951,400 views and 56,000 likes in four days (shown below).



Fandom

On January 9th, 2025, TikToker[10] @oater.x posted an edit of Death Sentence in an anime style, gaining over 706,600 likes in four months (shown below).

Death Sentence memes and fan appreciation posts surfaced en masse after his May 2025 victory. For instance, on May 4th, Redditor Playful_Swordfish_17 posted to the /r/streetbeefs[8] subreddit, writing, "EXTREMELY happy about Death Sentence getting his first W!"

On May 3rd, TikToker[9] @crypticpulsee posted a Death Sentence fancam, using clips of his fights. Over four days, it received roughly 173,200 likes (shown below).
