About

Ironmouse is a VTuber that streams on Twitch under the guise of a demonic queen of hell with pink hair. All that is known about Ironmouse's true self is that they are Puerto Rican and suffer from Common Variable Immunodeficiency, meaning that they spend a lot of time indoors and have occasional health scares.

Online Start

Ironmouse began streaming for the first time in early 2017 on a platform called YouNow, while still under the guise of Ironmouse as a virtual streamer via prominent early streaming software Facerig. On September 28th, 2017, she created her Twitch account and her YouTube account followed a day later, though they would both be unused for several months as she continued to stream on YouNow. The story of her early career was uploaded to YouTube by the channel Best of Ironmouse[1] on February 8th, 2021, where it earned 22,000 views in one year (shown below).

Online Presence

Though she was initially independent, Ironmouse would go on to sign with VShojo in their first generation of VTubers on November 24th, 2020, joining the ranks of Project Melody and Nyanners. Her debut stream was edited into a highlight video and uploaded the same day by the fan YouTube channel Best of Ironmouse,[2] where it gained 61,000 views in two years (shown below).

In 2021, Ironmouse began a stream of collaborations with other VTubers, YouTubers and Twitch stars, and had large streaming success with attaining 500,000 YouTube subscribers on August 30th, and appearing the 6th most-watched female streamer for the month of October. Her 500,000 special stream was streamed live on YouTube[3] on September 12th, 2021, where it was viewed by over 78,000 in eight months (shown below).

Sub-A-Thon

Ironmouse started a Sub-A-Thon on February 4th, 2022, with the stated rules being that every subscriber, gift subscriber given, 500 bits cheered or $5 donation would extend the time of the streams end by 15 seconds, with the idea being that the sub-a-thon will last until either a pre-determined cutoff point, or until the people stopped gifting, subbing, and cheering. The sub-a-thon went on for 31 days, ending on March 7th, making it officially longer than the month-long sub-a-thon hosted by Ludwig Ahgren in 2021.

During the Sub-A-Thon, Ironmouse hit various important milestones in her career, such as most subscribed female on Twitch, the currently most subscribed person on Twitch, and reaching #3 on the all-time most subscribed ever chart for Twitch. Highlight videos of her sub-a-thon are uploaded to YouTube and feature moments the community feels are important takeaways from the 31-day event, all uploaded by Best of Ironmouse[4] (Shown below).

Definitely an improvement to have the most subscribed female Twitch streamer be an actual gamer instead of Amouranth or pokimane. Sure, the latter plays games too, but I feel like vtubers are more representative of both gaming and livestreaming, really.
