Fake Natty

On April 27th, 2018, Urban Dictionary user @AllNattyGains[6] explained (shown below) that the expression "Fake Natty" refers to "Someone who uses roids and gear but still claims to be natural." The expression became globally popular in the fitness and bodybuilder community.

Goés has been using the expression in several videos on his social media platforms, but one of his clips, in particular, went viral in Brazil. Posted on June 25th, 2023, Rodrigo uploaded a video on YouTube[7] titled "Natural or Fake Natty Celebrities" in which he reacts to videos of Brazilian celebrities and tries to inquire if the person is using any substance. In the video (shown below), Góes is talking about the Brazilian bodybuilder Muzy, accusing him of using steroids, which garnered 532,000 views and 60,000 likes in a month.

Clips of the creator saying "fake natty" quickly spread across other social media platforms. For example, on May 18th, 2023, YouTube[8] user @jamescringe posted a compilation video (shown below) of all the moments Goés had said the expression on his channel.
