About

Sweet Anita is the handle of a Twitch streamer with Tourette Syndrome who went viral in October of 2018 due to her profanity-laden streams.

History

Sweet Anita was born in East Anglia, England.[1] Her real name is unknown and she's 28. She has given an unverified back story to Kotaku[1] which is thus:

Anita takes care of 35 animals, including rabbits, rats, and chinchillas, although in the past, that number has swelled to 200. Her mother contracted an illness from a volcano. For one year, Anita lived in a treehouse in a field, where she was raised by hippies. She has attended almost no formal school. To make ends meet, she has sold hand-picked pastel-colored sea glass from the English coast. Once, she fell into a pit of corrosive acid, human excrement, and dead livestock.

She began streaming on Twitch in September of 2018,[2] primarily playing Overwatch. On October 19th, she was talking about playing other games when she went on an expletive-filled tirade, including bitch lasagna caused by her syndrome that went viral, gaining over 1.3 million views on Twitch,[3] 192,000 views on YouTube,[4] and reaching the top of /r/videos.[5]

The clip was instrumental in helping Anita go viral. She gained over 150,000 followers in one month and gained a Twitch partnership. As of December 18th, she has over 300,000 Twitch followers. Her tics include whistling, making popping noises with her mouth, and shouting sexually vulgar obscenities. She has gained notoriety and praise for discussing her Tourette's openly on stream. The word "Banana" is banned on her Twitch stream because is triggers a strong reaction from her, which she has said in some cases results in her vomiting blood (shown below, left).

Online Presence

In addition to her 300,000 Twitch followers, Anita has over 140,000 YouTube[6] subscribers and her clips regularly appear on /r/livestreamfail.[7]
