Waifu Mia or Waifumia is a Canadian e-girl, influencer, cosplayer and OnlyFans model. She gained a significant following throughout the early 2020s with millions of collective followers between various platforms, including TikTok and Twitter, and was profiled in Maxim in January 2023. Online, her looks have been compared to Belle Delphine, particularly because of her e-girl makeup and content. She is often cited as a prime example of the Belle Delphine effect.

History

On September 16th, 2021, Waifu Mia posted her first video to her TikTok^[1] page @waaifumia, garnering over 1.5 million views in two years (shown below, left). On November 10th, she opened a second TikTok^[2] account, @waifumia2. She posted another notable viral video to TikTok^[3] on December 13th that garnered over 12.4 million views in just over a year (shown below, right).

She posted her first cosplay photo to Instagram^[4] @waifuumiax on October 12th, 2022. On October 30th, OK! Magazine^[5] published a profile on her. On November 23rd, she posted her first video to another new TikTok^[6] page, @itsmiawaifu. On November 25th, she posted a video to the TikTok^[7] page that gained over 33 million views in three months (shown below, left). On November 29th, she posted a video^[8] that gained over 15 million views in the same rough span of time (shown below, right).

On January 9th, 2023, Digital Journal^[9] published a profile on Waifu. On January 13th, Maxim^[10] published an article on Waifu, followed by Women's Wear Daily^[11] on January 27th.

Personal Life

Waifu Mia is from a small town in Canada. When she was 16, she won the academic excellence award at her high school. According to Maxim,^[10] she was in school to become a nurse before turning to content creation. She claims to have been contacted by Belle Delphine, who she is frequently compared to online, who told her she loves her aesthetic and reminds her of a young Belle.
