Piss Jello refers to jokes that spread around Tumblr in early August 2017 about a user in the @/bpdconcept Discord server, a chat for people with borderline personality disorder, who allegedly ate jello made from his own urine.

Origin

On July 31st, 2017, Tumblr user ectorobotic^[1] posted a text post that read:

do not join the @/bpdconcept discord server as there is, and im not joking, constant talking of bodily fluids including one member taking pictures of themselves eating gelatin made from their own piss. they also made a joke claiming that “bpd stands for big piss drinkers” and i dont know about you but i would not like my mental disorder which could cause serious problems to be demoralized and compared to piss drinkers.

The user then posted screenshots of the conversation in question (some shown below), calling out Tumblr users @quisiderium,^[2] hpdbailey (since deleted), and @screagee.^[3] The post has gained over 7,800 notes.

Spread

The accused Tumblr users attempted to clarify that that the jello was actually lemon jello,^[4] but not everyone believed them. While discourse surrounding the post swirled on Tumblr, people began making jokes both about the absurdity of the idea of "piss jello" and of the fact ectorobotic felt the need to make a callout-type post about the event. One popular post by splatfest^[5] mocked the absurdity of Tumblr callout culture by comparing the need to callout someone drinking their own urine to the need to callout someone for sending suicide bait in a post that gained over 7,400 notes (shown below, left). Tumblr user itsyourboykent^[6] also gained notes by applying the story to the Fireflies meme (shown below, right).
